Kate (Wingy) & Seán (Krow) are two artists working to cultivate ámek̲t tŧen íy śḱáleȼen (good heart, good mind) together through ecologically-inspired creativity. They also co-host community events through softer computing club and The Library of Death.

Some of their H&C work is available to purchase/view online through Kate's shop. Seán also has a small gallery in the other room. They sometimes make pixel art as well.

Their first publication, sx̣ʷət̕č̕əlíéw̕txʷ micro-seasons, is available at Green Muse Herbs and Russell Books. 25% of the book's sales are donated to various local ecological causes and organizations.

They previously lived at sx̣ʷət̕č̕əlíéw̕txʷ (swethjeli-ouwt'/'abode of the hummingbird') in the North Latoria Creek Watershed and now reside in Fairfield near míqәn (Beacon Hill Park), Coast Salish Tung'exʷ & ÁLEṈENEȻ.

Hummingcrow & Co emerged as a collaborative practice during lockdown, when they were studying ecological stewardship and exploring the Scuttleverse .

During this time, they also took a 'virtual trip' to Japan to prepare themselves for future journeys there -- and began making art & music inspired by these experiences.

Where did the name "sx̣ʷət̕č̕əlíéw̕txʷ" come from?

When Seán's grandfather moved to Metchosin in the early 1980s, he was struck by the number of hummingbirds who visited his home. So he sought out a Straits Salish name for the land, and was given "sx̣ʷət̕č̕əlíéw̕txʷ". Later, sx̣ʷət̕č̕əlíéw̕txʷ also came to be known as "Hummingbird Hill" and Kate wrote a song about their time there.

When Seán & Kate moved away in 2024, they ceremonially removed this name from the land, and—unbeknownst to them at the time—it 'migrated' to another area of Metchosin that is now protected by a Conservation Covenant.
